    which the smith uses are an anvil, a machine for bending new iron to form wheel-bands, a through for water made of stone, a hammer, chizel, sledge, nails, shoe-knife, a buffer, a rasp, pincers, tongs and a large number of such things.
    The smith's principal job is shoeing horses, asses and jennets. Long ago the smith made implements for the farm such as ploughs, harrows, spades, pikes, axes, scuplors and other such implements. These are not made by smiths now in the locality. Wheels are banded in the open air.
