- There are four forges in the town of Kanturk. Three of these are owned by people named Buckley's. The other forge is owned by a man named O Connor. The Buckleys are a very old family and they always had these forges. The forges are situated on the side of the street. Each forge is situated near the other.
The forges are made the same as any out office only that the forges have chimneys. The roofs of these forges are of differant material, one is made of slate the, other of tatch with felt over it and the other is made of felt.
