- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)containing bails for tying cows. The cows are tied between two bails which are joined by 'hasps'. The cows are tied by the legs and horns sometimes and by the neck when in the salt. Some tyings are called 'spansels'.
The stable consists of three or four apartments for horses. Hay, oats, bran, and turnips is the food of the horses. Rye is given to them in Spring. The horses are taken to the forge to be shod. The horses' hair is clipped at home in most places with a clipping-machine.
