stone when O'Rourke's wife stepped forward, and put her hand on the stone thinking that some evil, should fall on he husband.
When the dark man saw her, he said to O'Rourke "You have betrayed me, and you could not keep a secret for three nights." The dark man then disappeared, so O'Rourke had to go home with his wife.
He searched for many days for the stone but could not find it. So he ended his days without the gold.
