  1. There was a hedge-school in Tureenavouscane (Túirín Bhoiseáin). It was held in a small miserable hovel. The Teacher's name was James Fitzgerald.
    He stayed in various houses and was fed therein.

    There was an old house there and about twenty scholars came there every day. The Teacher's name was Patrick Sheehan.
