The Roll Books for Irish as an Extra Subject for which fees were paid for 1910-11 show that there were 38 children under instruction: 1912-13 there were 35; 196-1917 - 34; 1918-19 - 53; 1921-22 - 36. The late Principal Mr. M. Burns - a native of Sneem Co. Kerry, was a fluent Irish speaker and taught Irish with remarkable success. Many of his pupils whom I meet have a very thorough knowledge of the simple speech and can use it easily.(continues on next page)
