Poor "Congo" was now very weak as a result of his wound but a drop of brandy and hot milk revived him. It was then arranged to leave the four-wheeler (which was returned to Kanturk next day), and to finish the journey on a car which supplied milk twice daily to Cork City. That evening the two ladies, with their patient, set out on the milk car driven by the usual milkman.
