- This is a story that was told to me by my mother about a coachman named David Shine who used to work for us. One day when my grandfather had this old man cutting a hedge in Ballyrushion, my grandfather who was living in Kanturk whenever he came out the Ballyrushion he brought this old man a newspaper. One day he brought a piece of cold pig's cheek wrapped up in the paper. When Davey opened it and found the meat inside he made the sign of the cross and said, "Thats the best piece of news I ever saw in that old Cork Examnier Sir."
