- There are six fairs held in Liscarroll every year. Namely the 25th of March, the 1st and 31st of May, the 31st of August, the 21st of October, and the 29th of November.
The fairs are not as big now as in former days. Because lorries often go around and take away calves from the farmers yards, and so that makes cattle scarce at the fair. Very often a great number of buyers attend, some come the night before. Fairs are held in the town of Liscarroll. When a bargain is made they clap hands, spit in one another's hands. The baron of the fair is Mr. John Murphy of Churchtown.- Collector
