Isaac Bluett shook his head. With rare eloquence the Dame argued and entreated passionately. Bluett hesitated and so was lost. Next evening at sundown when the maids went out to the milking, Dame Elspeth was not there to supervise and direct. Night fell and there was no trace of her. Next day her husband saddled his sorrel gelding and rode into Moyallow Nobody in Moyallow had seen the missing Dame.
In a Flemish convent a lay sister, reputed to be of English birth, led a life of sanctity and hard work. Among the poor worldly possessions which she brought into the cloister were two cut cooked potatoes immune from decay. The true story was only known to their owner and the Mother Abbess.- Collector
