- It is not right to "redden" a grave on a Monday.
James Nagle of Killavullen, told me his mother, died late on a Sunday evening. The funeral was to take place on Monday, but Sunday night, just before twelve o'clock he went to Clonanimy Graveyard accompanied by a cousin of his John Buckley.
When they came to the Graveyard gate Buckley refused to enter but he himself went to the grave and dug a sod.
This man died some years ago aged 86 and was commonly known as "Jimbo Nagle" from his huge size. When a corpse is interred in the wrong grave and afterwards placed in the right grave, a broom should be put in the grave after coffin has been removed.
Mrs. Nora Wagner of Ballincurrig Killavullen told me this Mrs. Hannah Marie Magna gave us the following(continues on next page)- Informant
