  1. On this day the children used take out a Bridóg.
    The bridóg was the handle of a brush made into a cross to act as shoulders or hands.
    This figure was dressed up with a frock and coat, a hat on the head and veil.
    Five or six children would gather together from 9 to 14 years and the biggest would take the bridóg.
    They would go around to every house and would get money for the bridóg.
    They came home then and divided the money between them.
    This was carried on about fifty years ago.
