    many famous men lived here. John Mac Donald (Seán Cláraig) an Irish poet lived here, and was buried in a graveyard outside the town Barry Yelverton, afterwards (Viscount Avonmore) too was educated here. It is now included in North Cork Constituency, and has good employment in the the local mills. Nearby the town, is a bacon curing factory which employs many hands. Charleville is 19 miles North by West from Cork, and 114 South West of Dublin. It consists mainly of two streets crossed by two others at right angles.
