    One night a man was walking along the road from Aglish graveyard and a pig followed him along the road to Carker Cross and there changed into a greyhound.

    One night a tree fell in a certain man's estate and two men took a cross-cut to cut the tree for firing. They had just started to cut it when old Major Bracken who owned the estate and was long since dead, sat on the tree. Every time they attempted to cut the tree he came nearer and nearer to them so that they could not work the saw. They said to one another that they would have the tree in spite of him and they waited till cock-crow and he disappeared and they cut the tree.
    Some years ago my father with a lot of other boys were all around Castlepook Bridge on a Good Friday night. They all heard a lot of talking and laughing coming from towards them from the Castle. After a few minutes another man came in the same
