    to the Barreys Castle from this abbey. The meaning of this passage is when the abbey would be attacked the monks could go to the castle for refuge. This abbey was burned twice by "Murrough the burner". The second it was burned it was built no more. Now there are people being buried in the abbey. There are bones from the battle of Knockmanus in the abbey.
