  2. There was a holy well in Rockmills long ago, the well is there still but is not now considered a holy well. The patron saint was St. Nicholas, he is said to be a brother to St Mologga whose well is situated in the townland of Achacross.
    The well is on a height. There are two big Ash trees on each side of the well. It is said when those trees meet the end of the world will come. This was prophesied by Father Kearney.
    There is an outlet from the well into the river Funcheon.
    People suffering from sore eyes used to go to the well and some of them were cured.
