They were in a terrible state knowing that he could not walk, and trying out where he had gone. At last they found him in a loft to which there was no staircase only a rough ladder. How he got up was a mystery but they believed that it was the fairies that took him there and he died the evening after. The person that told this to me knew the people and the child. This happened about sixty years ago. - Long ago the old people of this district firmly believed in Pishogues, but nowadays ever few believe in them. They used to say that an enemy used to set the pishogues. A little piece of butter on a paper was often set.
Many years ago a farmer in Co. Limerick set a field of wheat. but when the wheat began to grow, half of the field bore very good wheat(continues on next page)
