   morning it is a sign of bad weather and when a rainbow appears in the night tis a sign of good weather. When the cat and dog come near the fire 'tis a sign of bad weather. When the birds fly inland it is a sign of bad weather and when the swallows fly low it is a sign of bad weather. When the hills seem near to us it is a sure sign of rain.

   2. When we see dark clouds in the western horizon we may be certain of rain. When the sun goes pale to bed it is a sign of rain, but when it goes to bed with a red glow it is a sign that the next day will be fine. When we see a cat with his back to the fire or a donkey with his back to a ditch it is also a sign of rain.
