  1. There was a landlord in Rossmore, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork named Sir Guy Francis Clarke, Traver, Bart. He lived in Ballincollig, Co. Cork and had his Rossmore estate let to Thomas Edmund Coppinger. He had it let to tenant farmers until the time of Agitation when the tenants refused to pay the middle landlord. Coppinger was a very bad landlord and the tenants applied to the head landlord for an agent to collect the rents. Both the head landlord and his agent acted very decently to the tenants. The tenants got several reductions in their rents until eventually they bought out under the Wyndham Act.
    The soldiers that fought with Cromwell in this country are the landlords and the gentry of this country and were also given large estates.
    Tithes were also gathered in Rossmore, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. They were gathered by a man called the procter for the Minister. This is a story about the Tithes. A gentleman was collecting the tithes for the
