    sprinkled holy water around the place and he made the sign of the cross with the Crucifix and the devil disappeared for a few minutes.
    He came again and made furious attempts to get at the man but by the power of the priest he had to withdraw again.
    The third time he appeared, flames of fire blazed from his mouth and nostrils and he roared like a wild beast. He did his best to get at the man but the power of the minister of God was again too great for him and he disappeared never to interfere with that man again.
    Since then that field has been called "The Devil's Field" and the hole through which he was supposed to appear still remains to be seen.
