    Tolls are still paid at local fairs at the rate of 4d for cattle, and 6d for horses etc.

    People show agreement by slapping their open hands together.
    Large buyers of cattle usually have a system, of marking cattle, with a scissors, on the hips. Mud or cart grease are often used for marking pigs at fairs.
    A halter is usually given when a horse is being sold.
