From Crosshaven a boat named the "Joseph" set sail but no sooner had it gone out than it sank and all hands were lost. At Smith-Barry's Quay opposite Passage a ship was anchored. The anchor broke, and the ship was lost. The only person in the ship was the captain, who saved himself by swimming ashore.
