- It is a custom with the boys of Passage West to burn "Judas" on Good Friday. They get old clothes and stuff them to represent the figure of Judas and having saturated it with oil they tie a rope round its neck and set fire to the feet. The fire burns up along the image and when it is burned to ashes they leave the ashes on the ground to blow away with the wind. The burning is carried out on the hill opposite the Protestant Church.May 18th 1938.
