  1. (continued from previous page)
When the priest came he asked Edward Brady did he say his prayers in the morning and he said he did not. The priest told him that, that was why the woman was in the cart. Then the priest asked the woman what put her there. She said that the devil put her there. He then asked her to tell him her sins. She told him her sins but every sin she told him he said that it would not damn her. "I killed a baby before it was baptised", she said at last. "That's what damned your soul in hell", replied the priest. "I'll put you out of this now". So he knelt down and prayed over the. While praying over the woman she turned into a ball of fire and went up into the air. "Now," says the priest, "You'll fall down into the Red Sea". "I'll sink the ships there", said the woman. "You will not", replied the priest, "for I'll turn your head down and your legs up". Then she went off through the air in a ball of fire with her head down and her legs up and was never seen again.
