- South of Castlemartyr a saw mill was carried on. It was built in the year 1920. A lot of horses were working there drawing timber. Mr. Dinan owned the mill. The timber was sawed into boards. These were sent to Cork where they were finished. Two lime kilns were in Mr. Gould's land. The lime was made from stones got in the quarries. The boss should send away to Killkenny for colum. The lime was used for several purposes. It was used for manuring the land.
