    Twas on a Summers Sunday in the blooming month of June, as I rambled along that valley close by the hills of Coule

    You sons of the Gael where'er you may be,
    I hope you will pay attention & listen to me,
    Till I'll tell to you of a great victory,
    That was won by the boys from Dungourney
    Chorus:-
    Here let us cheer them and Cheer them all round,
    They met their opponents they went to the ground
    For here in old Ireland there ne'er will be found
    Better boys that the boys from Dungourney
    II
    On the sixth day of April in nineteen nought eight,
    At Dungarvan when Tipperary were represented complete,
    By the brave men of Thurles who suffered defeat,
    At the hands of the boys from Dungourney.
    Chorus.
    III
    When they entered Dungarvan they marched to the field,
    Where with true skill and science their hurleys did wield
    Says Cork to Tipperary we never will yield.
    We are the boys that came here from Dungourney.

    I heard people say they ne'er saw such play,
