    couple and throw an old shoe after the boy or the girl for luck. There was another custom also, that boys dressed in straw from head to foot called "Straw Boys" used tie a rope across the road in front of the Church. The two coming out used throw some money on the ground and let whoever liked take it. When the "Straw Boys" saw that the two were gone they came and the rope and money.
    The hauling home meant the marriages used take place in the girls' houses and after the marriage she stayed at home for nine or ten days. Then the husband used go for her and haul her home.
