    From Queenstown quay we sailed away.
    The weather being calm and fine.
    On board of that gallant wheryoman.
    In that famous sky and line.
    At the day of our departure.
    Sure I can't forget that day.
    'Twas on a Sunday morning.
    On the sixteenth day of May.
    it would grieve the heart of any man.
    That morning on the strand.
    To hear the cries of our Irish boys.
    And they losing sight of land.
    I long to see those green fields.
    And meadows in their prime.
    In lonely haunts of bygone days.
