    Such a riddle could not be,
    Through a rock, through a reel,
    Through a horse’s shin bone,
    Though the town of Garrowen,
    Riddle me that and leave me alone.
    Ans: A flash of lightning.
    ’Tis here, ’tis there, ’tis everywhere,
    ’Tis over in castle garden,
    It takes a bite as big as an ass,
    And never swallows it after.
    Ans: A scythe.
    Little miss Netty Goat,
    With a white petticoat,
    And a red nose.
    The longer she stands
    The shorter she grows.
    Ans: A candle.
    As I went into a garden of wheat,
    I met a thing that you could not
