    One night while he was on the hill a car-load of police came up a small boreen at the Kilmeedy side, and hid in the furze. After a while another load came and then another until he thought the hill was black with police. They left before dawn, next night he was in the same place where he used to sleep. A lone man came and walked around, and appeared to be waiting for some-one. Connors approached him and said "Go back and tell your friends not to come here to night the hill was black with police last night".
