- There is a castle near Kanturk in Co. Cork. Long ago when it was building it is said that anyone that passed was killed by the men who were working there. Their blood was used to mix the mortar. It was built very high, and the window frames were made with out stone. Somebody foretold it would never be finished. The man who was to live in it was going to a city one day to buy the roofing material and he was killed on the way. It is a large square building and it stands roofless to the present day.
