  1. Local Songs (continued)

May health and grace be ever thine.

    (continued from previous page)
    Of druids assembled there,
    While water of baptism fell
    Upon that head with prayer.
To day there came from O'er the main
    To me a shamrock green
Kissed by the Irish sun and rain
    And fanned by winds serene
With tenderest care a mother there
    In dear 'old Ireland
This shamrock sent while sister lent
    A skillful, loving hand.
For then I pray this Patrick's Day
    With fervour of my soul
For all at home and far away
Who strive to reach that goal
For which they pine, the Lord divine
Will help to set them free
From foreign chains 'till naught remain
    But glorious liberty
