    On his voyage he got very friendly with one of the officers. He confided in him and told the tale of the raid. This officer was a Palatine and before the Whiteboy could land in America, the officer reported his story. The unfortunate raider was placed under arrest, brought back to Ireland and hanged for murder.(The coffin incident was told to Martin Moylan by a man named Nash who was in the employment of Major Hare and was the only civilian who attended the funeral. Two of the Culhane's of Riddlestown were in this Whiteboy raid.)
