“There are some people and they have luck about them.”
Miscellaneous. There are some people and they have luck about them. A man who wasn't born until after his father's death is a lucky man, and is the right man to take a mare to the horse. The foal that that mare will bring is going to be a good one. (B.H.)(no title)
“There are some farms and the bull that is kept on them is bound to be a rogue.”
There are some farms, and the bull that is kept on them is bound to be a rogue. You know the country well, and did you ever see a bull on C__'s farm or on S___'s that wasn't a rogue. 'Tisnt in the grass it is at all: The old people used to say, and mind you, they used have a lot of truth in what they said. They used to say that wherever there was a bull, and an echo together, that the bull there was bound to be cross, and doesn't it stand to reason, for there's an echo in C__'s and an echo in S___'s and in other places. I could tell you and everywhere the echo is the bull is cross"

“Didn't you ever know that tisn't right to be swinging a stick through the grass in front of you and you crossing a field.”
"Didn't you ever know that 'tisn't right to be swinging a stick through the grass in front of you and you crossing a field?". I remember my grandmother telling me to stop it one day. She said the good people were ahide in the grass and that I was interfering with them.Tim Hedderman.
