- (continued from previous page)Mount Coote is a large estate situated betwen Kilfinane and Kilmallock. A very rich Coote lived there many years ago. The following is the history of its name.This Coote had a very large estate and was a long time looking for a name for it. From morn to night he rode around the county asking everyone he met if they could tell him a good name but none would please him. One morning his servant was helping him up on his horse. "Mount, Coote" said the servant. Coote jumped down "that is the best name" said he and that is what it is still called.

Redchair is the name given to a Cross Roads in this parish. It is on the road which leads from Kilfinane Co Limerick to Kildorrery Co. Cork. It is about three miles from Kildorrery.Donovan and Molloy, who caused the death of Mahon King of Munster, are buried near the Cross.
