    Oft as the bright orb of heaven shines over me.
    My eyes wander far from the steep
    mountain ridge.
    Gazing on wild scenes which I now see
    before me.
    And musing betimes on the one
    high-arched bridge.

    In at O'Dwyer's and with social Joe Hurley
    To rest for awhile from reflections withdrawn;
    And sipping with friends whom I never
    found surly.
    Sprightly thy sons are beloved Glenbrohane.

    Farewell lovely village where's my
    feet press me:
    My heart shall expand as the tall
    cliffs I view
    Wherever I wander my lips will still
    bless thee.
    Linked with my birthplace I sigh
    for thee too.
