Foley owns the farm now. He was father to John Buckley Sr. Ex. Clerk of Chapel. He was a courageous, brave man whose delight was to hamper the doings of the police and bailiffs. It was a frequent occurrence his beating four police and escaping from them. He was nearly always on the run except on Sundays.
Clifford Lloyd and his men got a great reception from Lord Massey, at Massey Lodge near Anglesboro' on one occasion when he had evicted the whole country side.
Townsend, the agent, Mrs & ladies, Popham Bell Frank's Agent, Mrs Bell & ladies and several other of the same ilk were there.
The troopers got stupidly drunk. Their horses in the stables were surely safe, but the boys around the cross collectd, entered the stables stealthily, brought out the saddles and bridles and trappings and cut them up into very small scraps and piled them in a heap outside the Lodge Gates.
