   Buckshot Foster: Don't hesitate to Shoot.

   On the ninth day of September recorded it shall be,
   OBrien was tried in Mitchelstown for loving his country,
   From every side true Leaguers all
   Despite each Landlord's frown
   Came proudly in at bugler's call
   To gallant Mitchelstown.

   Stout Mandeville is mustering his bands by Desmond's rills
   And Condon's men, like bees in Spring, come trooping from the hills
   And Casey brave, the Galty Boy, who wore a felon's crown
   In fenian days, lead on with pride the boys of Mitchelstown

   Now on the scene there comes a squad of renegade police
   With rifle, sword and bayonet; disturbers of the peace
   They come as at Kilclooney Wood, to guard Victoria's Crown
   And shed again their brothers blood in storied Mitchelstown

   I remember the 9th Sept 1887.l I got all the facts above quoted from P. Hannon & P. Hickey old age pensioners who are living in Ballylanders at the present time. Got the facts on 15 Dec '38.
