    Warts. Washing soda taken about in the pocket - damped and rubbed to the wart several times daily.
    Chincough The Blessed Virgin's chalice (a small white flower shaped like a chalice) boiled in milk.
    Bleeding. A clean cobweb put on a bleeding wound stops bleeding. Bleeding from the nose is stopped by putting a cold object e.g. cold door keys on the nape of the neck.
    Sore throat cured by wrapping your stocking round it at night time - extreme cases were treated by roasting fat bacon on a fork and placed in flannel as hot as possible to the throat.
    Chilblains (1) Salt and lemon juice rubbed in - (2) Paraffin oil rubbed in. (3.) Whiskey rubbed in briskly.
    Corns in the soles of the feet - wear insoles with holes cut in them where the corns are.
    Ingrowing nails - pare the middle of the nail finely and cut straight across the top.
    Toothache. Go to a graveyard at night and get a skull and drink water out of it using the skull to hold the water.
    Pain in the back People went to the Teampaillín Mologga (a graveyard not far from Ballylanders and only a few miles from Mitchelstown) and went in
