  1. Long ago people had no schools like now they were taught in little huts. These are some of the places where these huts were long ago.
There was one behind Morris Noonan's field in Baalinamuddy in the parish of Galbally, and there was a man teaching there whose name was Tomas Elliot. He had two crutches, and he was a very cross schoolmaster. There was a school over at the Lisín Traélic and Paddy Fitzgerald was teaching there.
There was a school over beyond Michael Bourke's in Longford and Matty Mahony was teaching there.
He taught the common wasster which was one of the old English spelling books.
Thomas Elliot was alas teaching at Curragh Hill-Bran in the parish of Anglesborough.
There was a school behind at Frakers and Paddy Fitzgeral was teaching there.
There was another school behind in David Fitzgerald's field in Ballinamuddy and Sticky Fitzgerald was teaching there.
