    Canon Ryan. The piers are still in the entrance to the Parrochial House.
    The Lowes lived in a house called Dunville in Ardpatrick near Kilfinane. They owned the village of Galbally. That is why it is called Lowtown.
    The bailiffs used to arrest people for shouting. Taxes were collected and if the farmers could not pay the bailiffs used to take their cattle. Some farmers used to pelt the bailiffs with bad eggs.
    When the people got drunk they used attack their landlords and the bailiffs.
