    On the 6th of January about forty-five years ago Ned Forde of Curraghkilbran and myself went to old Master Fitzgeralds funeral.

    On the 6th of January about forty-five years ago Ned Forde of Curraghkilbran and myself went to old Master Fitzgeralds funeral. He died here in this very house (i.e the teacher's residence Anglesboro'). He was taken to Kilshane outside Tipperary town to be buried.
    When we were coming home from the funeral Dan Gallahue and his sister Brigid were just before us and Ned Forde and myself were behind them in our own car. When we came to Con Burkes Cross there at Garnalina a barrel as high as the ditch was rolling along the dyke. The horses went mad and I jumped out of the car and ran along beside the barrel but I did not allow it to touch me.
