    And Garrett sits astride once more his milk-white steed to-night.
    Down by Lough Gur's enchanting lake where Desmonds chiefs of old
    Had gathered all their henchmen brave to gaurd this last stronghold
    He gallops past the Castle Bán, drawbridge and Giant's grave
    Where Diarmuid and fair Gránia slept beside the silver wav
    When in their flight and sorry plight so runs the bardic tale
    Just to evade the shining blade of angry Conan Máol
