It was now about six o'clock in the morning so Tom went out and put his horse under the cart. After about two hours he reached Clonmel and as he was going down the town he met one of the little men who were at the "half-way house" the night before. He came up to Tom and said, "Good-morning, Tom. What way are you after last night's encounter?" "Well I'm none the worse for my experiences" says Tom. "Be gor" says the little man "I have great news for you this morning". "Wish what is it?" says Tom. "Well", says the little man, "As a reward for the interesting story you told us last night you will get a very big price for your butter here to-day, much more than you ever got before". Tom was very pleased at this; so thanking the little man, he proceeded down the street singing as he went. He had not gone far when he met a tall gentleman.
