- Some years ago there was a man named William Flynn living in Kyle, a townsland in the parish of Cappamore. He used to be always boasting of his great courage in the night and saying he would go out at any hour by himself. All the boys knew he was only pretending.
One night there was a wake in aneighbouring house and they heard he was going. They planned to frighten him. One of them put a white sheet around him and stood near a place where a ghost was supposed to be seen. When he came near it, he got afraid, he blessed himself three times jumped over the ditch and ran home across the fields for he had not the courage to pass the ghost.
