    On the 29th of July nineteen thirty four
    It happened on a road leading to Cappamore
    The tar was pilled at the quarry gate
    Costing money to the State

    When the 30th came sure excitement was high
    With Guards on the scene, they being very sly
    And when they had seen it, sure they set to work
    With the case in the hands of Colemam Burke.

    Some boys were arrested and taken in,
    But the Guards didn't know where they'd begin
    For John and Mick Leonard and young Cummins too
    Faith to be sure remained loyal and true.
