IBeneath the oaks in solitude,
In a deep and grassy dell,
The great St. Bridget knelt in prayer,
Beside a holy well.
And where she prayed, unto this day
Her footmarks, plain are shown
Beneath the shelter of the oaks
Upon a large flat stone.

To old ''Sríonáin'' once pilgrims flocked
To that cool and shady dell,
They came to pray for health and strength
At Bridgets holy well.
But once upon a patron day
A fight took place near by,
And blood was spilled; and ever since
