    The Guards came out and arrested three

    But the devil another clue they got
    Because the boys had them all forgot

    and the number of witnesses were enlarged
    Eighteen were summoned to Pallas Court
    And the people thought there would be sport.

    The crowd sure came in spite of rain
    But it being so great a crime the tar to be spilt
    The boys stood up and admitted their guilt
