  1. Old people are well versed in ancient cures and remedies and they hand them down to the next generation.
    1. Their cure for a headache - Put out a piece of ribbon on a hedge on St Brigid's Eve and when they get a headache bring it in and lie it around the head.
    2. For a sprain - Wash it in potato water or in cold spring water.
    3. For the whooping cough - A Ferret's leavings of milk, also what a man on a white horse would say
    4. For a wound - A cobweb placed on the cut will stop the bleeding
    5. For a toothache - A drop of iodine mixed with a cup of milk and gargled in the mouth, also a pinch of salt placed in the cavity
