- This small churchyard is situated in Manister parish, about half a mile North of Tory Hill. The place is locally known as Coultar. I heard that the wall enclosure built over 40 years ago diminished the extent of the old burial area.In the centre of the church are the ruins of probably an old church of great antiquity.There is only one vault erected about 110 years ago for a family named Enright. This family lived then at Rathbranagh.Except some bones there is little trace now of the coffins that were deposited there. It used to be said that reynard often dodged the pursuing hounds by hiding in this vault.I heard a story of where 7 "whiteboys" were surprised by two Constabulary men in this graveyard 80 years ago. Constabulary were stationed then at Ballycahane in the house now occupied by Pat Cusack. Two police from this Barrack were on an early morning patrol by Coultar when they spied 7 whiteboys lying down and(continues on next page)
